January 14, 2005

RUSH were among the Canadian artists that assembled at the CBC broadcasting center Thursday night (Jan. 13) to take part in Canada for Asia, a three-hour, history-making live telecast in support of relief efforts for the tsunami victims of South Asia. RUSH had recorded a new version of their 1977 hit "Closer To The Heart" with fellow Canadians Ed Robertson of BARENAKED LADIES and actor Mike Smith, and video footage of the performance was shown during the broadcast. Check out photos of RUSH and friends rehearsing for the event at Rush.com.

Proceeds from the event will go to a variety of organizations, including
UNICEF, the Canadian Red Cross, Oxfam Canada, Save The Children Canada, and World Vision.
